Motorway A43 to St Michel de Maurienne (17 kms from Valloire) + D 902 through the Télégraphe Pass - Snow-chains may be required during winter.
The Galibier pass is closed from the end of October till the end of May.
Since 2010, Valloire made the choice to remove snow from the roads without using salt. As a result, the roads stay white. Signs mentioning "route glissante non salée" (Slippery road - no salt used) will be posted from the hamlet "Le Col" to warn drivers.
